Northumberland College

Mainer Associates is supporting Bowmer & Kirkland with the As-Built Whole Life Carbon Assessment for Northumberland College’s new state-of-the-art Ashington Campus, targeting net zero carbon.

Set to open in 2026, the £54 million campus will feature three sustainably designed buildings including a SEND centre, engineering block, and Student Life Centre. The project uses off-site timber construction (SIPs), natural ventilation, rain gardens, solar PV, and air-source heat pumps to minimise both embodied and operational carbon.

Our WLCA ensures the campus meets its low-carbon goals across the full project life cycle - supporting a future-focused, inclusive, and environmentally responsible education hub.
